In addition the recent show in San Francisco, the great Peat Wollaeger has decided to take the Luchador-Collabo show international to Melbourne, Australia. The show will be up at Per Square Metre on July 31st and will feature some of the existing masks from the previous show as well as some fresh new masks from the locals down under.

So I’ve been slacking with these a lot recently, but what better way to get back in to it than to kick it off with an Ed Templeton original! I was really happy to have him do one seeing as how I grew up watching him skate for Toy Machine, and have also been a fan of his art career as well.

He released a new book this year, entitled “Nobody Living Can Ever Make Me Turn Back,” which documents his cross country trip from Denver to Chicago, in his own diary/ photojournalistic style.

Wow! It has been a long time since we’ve put anything up here.

Well no more! I wanted to share a piece I did for the Helping Hands series. It’s a wood photo album cover made of solid Maple. I got the blank inserts and accessory pieces from MUJI, and was able to build it out pretty painlessly.Here’s a few pics.

Hope everyone is killing it in their lobster shorts for the summer.

Benefit Art Show for Haven Skate Park

This is an open call for artists to donate artwork which will be sold to help raise money so that Haven Skate Park can purchase audio equipment.

Haven Skate Park offers a large alternative space for all age shows.

All donated artwork will be sold for $50 or less (depending on the artist). This $50 benefit show concept was perfected at The Visual Research Gallery, New Haven in 2003. The skate park will get 100% of the sales.

The show is on Sunday July 27, 2008. It is part of a larger event from 12-5 pm including bands, and a flea market.

I went to see PERSEPOLIS earlier this year, which was a great film and all around amazingly animated. One of my favorite scenes is when, Marjane, the main character, is walking down a street while several men in trench coats are trying to sell her bootleg cassettes of Pop bands:

… Stevie Wonder… Julio Iglesias… Pink Floyd… (and finally) JICHAEL MACKSON.

It tickled me something fierce. But what made it even better was that she passed up the Jichael Mackson tape to buy an Iron Maiden and play air guitar on a tennis racket in her room… awesome.

Hey hey!

So we’re going to have a few stickers out in the Arizona next month for the STICKER PHIENDS show hosted by the illustruous Mad One. Looks like it’s going to be a great show with work from: AKO, 14 Bolt, Robots will Kill, Billi the Kid, and lots more. For more info, click here.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have any spare stickers for them to give away as freebies right now, BUT we did send out some mini 7” x 7” prints of the mixtape graphic that you can customize and frame to your liking :)

So as some of you may now, PEEL magazine recently released a book on sticker art, which we were featured in for the mixtape sticker. In celebration of the release of the book, PEEL is throwing a launch party at their gallery, Alias, in Indianapolis on Friday, April 4th. The show will, in addition to promoting and showcasing the book, will feature work from some of the artists. Below are some pics of the piece I did for the show.

It was somewhat tricky in the beginning, because I had to re-draw most of the shapes after realizing the file I had brought with me wasn’t compatible with the computers I was using. That sucked. But luckily it didn’t make that much of a difference. I think overall I’m really happy with how the piece turned out. If anything, I may use a different stain next time.
